THE ORGANIZATION

Our Client, a specialized Wealth Manager with a long history in Canada, is seeking to further evolve it’s business by securing a Vice President, Technology & Digital Solutions. They will be tasked with enhancing their technology and digital solutions to redefine the Client experience and to re-shape the business tools and processes their staff can use to improve the experience of their Clients. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President, Technology & Digital Solutions (the “VP”), will be the senior management team’s ‘go-to’ expert in helping set the company’s technology strategic direction to grow and service the business. The role requires someone who is a strategic thinker, an effective communicator and an expert in technology transformation as it relates to helping the company achieve its business goals.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

Job Title: Vice President, Technology and Digital Solution

Department: Information Technology

Reports to: President

Location: GTA, Ontario

 

THE MANDATE

The VP will have overall responsibility for leading the IT department including developing technology strategies, priorities and administering all IT operations, development, budget, staff and physical facilities of the department. In addition, the VP will play an important leadership role as part of the digital roadmap transformation steering committee, and the team that is implementing a new CRM platform.

The VP is accountable for ensuring that IT is managed as a corporate asset working closely with the senior management team to ensure that the technology strategy appropriately aligns with and provides the necessary processes and infrastructure to drive corporate objectives. This is a key leadership role which is expected to contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives and long-term business plan.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

You are: A Talented Technologist

  • Serve as chief steward and champion in the management of our Client’s technology and technical assets
  • Wear many IT hats – IT infrastructure, architecture, IT Service Management, systems development, D3/Basic programming, and subject matter expert for leading digital transformation of our financial services business
  • Balance long term investments in enabling technology and vision, with short-term business requirements, including when to build vs. buy vs. outsource or change from one technology to another
  • Have strong understanding and experience in cutting edge technologies including data analytics, cloud computing, SaaS, network security, rich mobile, cyber security, digital and web applications
  • Track, analyze and monitor technology KPI metrics and work with various stakeholders to continually improve performance and outcomes
  • Own Information Security for the company ensuring that all reasonable measures are always in place
  • Develop and oversee the lifecycle of our technology assets and solutions
  • Responsible for a customer success focused technical support function, always ensuring our customers’ issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner

Been There, Done That Experience

  • Successfully managed an IT department or accountable for solution delivery for at least 7+ years
  • Successfully lead digital transformation initiatives within the financial services industry
  • Experience in network technologies and hosting solutions, database management and programming, including experience of cloud platforms
  • Experience working with web-based CRM (such as Salesforce) and digital and mobile applications
  • Experience in corporate strategic planning and organizational design
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal

Education

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent with a focus on Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field
  • Demonstrated continuing education courses in technology related fields
