THE ORGANIZATION

Quebec Compressors has been a leading force in compressed air products and parts since its creation in 1985 as a small provider of industrial air compressors in Montreal. The company’s industrial air compressor products and parts include Quincy compressors, Palatek, Ultrafilter and Great Lakes Air and offers 24/7 maintenance service with highly qualified technicians, enabling customers to choose from a range of air compressor accessories to suit their needs. The company employs some 50 people in Canada and just about the same in the United States. Quebec Compressors has offices in Sherbrooke, Drummondville, Rivière-du-Loup, Boisbriand, and Saint-Laurent while covering the Quebec and Ontario markets.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

Title: Vice President of Sales and Service

Location: Montreal, QC

 

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the President and CEO, you will be responsible for managing all brands, distribution channels and deployment of sales and service for the organization. You will oversee the development and achievement of sales strategies, budgets and marketing plans to grow the business as well as manage the sales and service teams (both outside and inside staff) within the Quebec and Ontario markets. You will drive sales and advertising efforts to increase penetration and growth in primary and focus markets all the while maintaining key vendor relationships. You will manage the sales process, establish goals and plans for the sales team. You will study the market served and maintain knowledge of its trends and customers. You will negotiate pricing and terms of conditions with both suppliers and customers. You will also work with the group’s Vice President of Finance and Operations to ensure operational efficiencies are in place.

 

Challenges

Among your main challenges, you will have to implement strategic plans that will drive growth and increase profitability for the organization in the assigned channel of business while maintaining outstanding relationships with internal and external customers and ensuring total client satisfaction.

 

Ideal profile

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial distribution or manufacturing work environment;
  • Industrial and/or municipal sales and service background preferred;
  • Extensive sales, marketing (Product deployment) and operations experience;
  • Proven track record of hiring and building high-performance sales teams and establishing enduring relationships with customers;
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit with an established contacts network;
  • Exceptional project management skills;
  • Strong work ethic with proactive communication skills;
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team;

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.
