The Opportunity

Reports to:President
Location:Delta, British Columbia or Greensboro, North Carolina



In this newly created role, the Vice President of Merchandising will be responsible for the development and implementation of a prioritized product merchandising strategy that will drive demand, margin, turn and growth across all customers and channels. This role will lead product development initiatives, analyze pricing, margins, industry trends and manage inventory forecasts to enable and surpass company revenue and profit targets.

Based out of Delta, BC and reporting directly to the President, the Vice President, Merchandising will inherit a robust merchandising team and will be a key figure in the strategic and growth for the organization and department.


Key Accountabilities

The position will include the following responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement the processes and tools needed to efficiently scale the merchandising and marketing functions to support the high growth of the business
  • Managing the product design, development, and content creation team
  • Utilizing data analytics to scale and support digital marketing strategy
  • Collaborate with the Sales, Engineering and Production groups to prioritize product lifecycles (launches / discontinuations)
  • Manage Month / Quarter / Fiscal budgets and goals
  • Build, manage and coach a high-performing team
  • Work closely with the sales department to align sales and marketing strategies
  • Manage product wholesale pricing, gross profit management, and inventory turns
  • Conduct Market Research and Analyze trends to identify new product and category opportunities and strategies
  • Interact with key customers at bi-annual trade shows and day-to-day business reviews
  • Oversee website, social media, and product IP
  • Create and manage a Voice of Customer (VOC) program to gain consumer insights
  • Leading, motivating, and promoting a positive work environment
  • Capture and communicate customer and consumer feedback to the product development teams
  • Coordinate / participate in semiannual trade shows



Prepac Manufacturing has a rich history in North America as a leading design & manufacturer for home-based furnishings. Through recent growth in production and consistent client partnerships, there is a newly created opportunity for a Vice President, Merchandising to join the leadership committee and be an integral part of the strategic growth. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to utilize their experience in creating and sharing their strategic vision to correspond with the organizations mission.


First Year Deliverables / Measures of Success

Success in the first year will be determined by the candidate’s ability to:

  • Have a strong understanding of the overall business and have built good working relationships throughout the organization
  • Ability to assess the departmental requirements required to meet the companies forward looking strategic and financial budgets
  • Created and begin to implement merchandising and marketing plans to meet strategic goals


Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; equivalent combination of education and years of relevant experience may be considered


  • 10+ years of experience across the retail/e-Commerce landscape (preferably in the home furnishings category)
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in a merchandising role, preferrable e-Commerce
  • A highly analytical mindset and experience leveraging various data analysis tools. Microsoft Office Suite: primarily Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, formulas, etc.) required
  • Experience creating strong partnerships among cross functional teams including sales, production, operations, finance, and customer service
