THE OPPORTUNITY

Job Title: Vice President Leasing & Asset Management

Reports to: Managing Director

Direct/Indirect Reports: 3

Location: Regina, Saskatchewan

 

MANDATE

The Vice President Leasing & Asset Manager is a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for overseeing the Leasing & Asset management of Harvard’s 6.5 million sq. ft. office and retail portfolio in Saskatchewan, Alberta & Manitoba.  This position oversees all leasing related accountabilities and ensures, in conjunction with various stakeholders, Harvard’s leasing strategic direction is implemented with the objective of maximizing asset value throughout the portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

The position will include the following responsibilities:

Corporate Development:

  • In conjunction with Harvard Property Management, ensure properties are maintained at a standard consistent with the vision and strategy for each asset and the vision of Harvard Developments.
  • Continuously stay abreast of industry and market trends and provide insight, expertise and knowledge.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Continuously develop, lead and manage Harvard’s long-term leasing strategy in conjunction with the senior leadership team.
  • Evaluate Harvard’s real estate portfolio performance on an on-going basis to ensure it is operating within the parameters of the real estate strategy

Fiscal Accountability:

  • In conjunction with Harvard Property Management, participate in the finalization of property budgets and presentation to partners.
  • Monitor asset valuation, debt covenants and perform sensitivity analysis to reflect potential risks and change in market conditions.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Source, hire and retain a successful leasing team.
  • Lead and/or assist presentations to current and prospective tenants and partners.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all applicable municipal and provincial political and administrative stakeholders, business organizations, consultants, tenants, joint venture partners and the brokerage community

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

Education

  • Degree in Commerce / Finance

Experience

  • 10+ years of comprehensive experience in commercial real estate, leasing office, commercial and retail properties, asset management & relationship management
  • Strong relationship building skills especially with joint venture partners and pension funds
  • Experienced professional at structuring and negotiations deals, sound financial and commercial understanding of deals
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
