Senior Manager, Human Resources Client Support – CWB Financial Group

THE OPPORTUNITY

Job Title: Senior Manager, HR Client Support
Reports to: AVP, HR Client Support
Location: GTA Locations

 

MANDATE

In this newly created role the Senior Manager, HR Client Support will play a pivotal role in serving as the primary point of contact and conduit of the HR department for all employees in Eastern Canada. Acting as the CWB Brand Ambassador and key representative of CWB Financial Group, the successful candidate will bring a comprehensive HR background focused on building employee engagement and employer recognition.
As an integral resource to the dedicated client group, the incumbent will provide support and guidance in many areas, primarily focused on workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, workforce culture, and HR program development and support. The role will also involve implementing and evaluating employee relations, human resources and talent acquisition policies, programs, and practices in helping to support the exciting growth objectives for CWB in Eastern Canada.
Key Focuses:
− Supporting the development and implementation of strategic human resources plans that facilitate the client group’s business objectives.
− Using proven human resources and business savvy to collaboratively work with client groups in establishing and supporting all aspects of their business endeavours.
− Applying knowledge of HR policy and procedure while using solid judgement to adapt to changing environments to achieve optimum outcomes.
− Providing guidance, counsel, direction and advice to management and employees on HR matters.
− Directing and coordinating the interpretation and application of policies, procedures and programs within the human resources function.
− Supporting employer branding and talent acquisition initiatives to grow brand recognition within the local community, universities/colleges and professional networks and affiliations in the GTA.
− Conducting Branch or department visits for performance management purposes, including presenting training programs and coaching conversations.
− Supporting the business with job evaluations, recruitment processes, performance management conversations, employees’ concern resolutions and many other functions.
− Holding yourself to high standards – information can be timely, sensitive and private. Knowing how to act with the highest level of integrity.
− An action orientation. Taking ownership of process, follow-through and checking in so the team can count on you.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:
Essential Education and Experience:
− Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a seasoned HR generalist with proven experience of coaching leaders and employees and/or post-secondary education (degree or diploma in Human Resources) and industry related courses/programs in employee relations and talent acquisition
− Knowledge of human resources practices covering all dimensions of the function inclusive of recruitment and employment legislation.
− Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).
Preferred Experience:
− Financial Industry experience is considered a considerable asset
− Knowledge of and experience with an HRIS system – preferably Workday
− Project Management skills. A proven ability to manage multiple objectives and prioritize to business needs as required
− Demonstrated ability to impact and influence others as a trusted advisor or people manager

− Ability to function and thrive independently and take initiative on actions with minimal direction
− Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and able to adapt messaging based on the audience being service
− An inherent solution and service orientation. Naturally inclined to go “beyond the call of service”
− Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
− Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build sustaining relationships with client groups
− Excellent presentation skills
− Ability and willingness to travel as required to the GTA locations and to Edmonton Head Office on occasion

 

12 MONTH MEASURES OF SUCCESS

− Successfully launched the CWB Financial Brand resulting in embedded recognition as an established market entity and recognized employer of choice
− Made significant inroads in establishing and incorporating desired HR programs and fulfilling their integration with both associates and managers alike
− Continued integration of Partner companies through ongoing alignment of policies and procedures, programs and organizational values
