THE OPPORTUNITY

Job Title:Sales Director – Canada
Reports to:Senior Vice President, North American Sales
Location: Canada

 

THE MANDATE

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, North American Sales the Sales Director – Canada will be responsible for managing, developing, and growing all aspects of the Canadian business. This successful candidate will develop and execute annual business plans for all corporate accounts and continue to manage and grow the current business relationships. Additionally, the Sales Director – Canada will develop a robust pipeline and ensure new costumers’ needs and expectation are met by the organization. A strategic thinker, with a ‘roll up the sleeves’ attitude will have the opportunity to service existing clients and grow market share across the country, increasing profitability and continuous growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create and execute an annual budget for the Canadian business which focuses on building a profitable and sustainable platform for SFC to grow in Canada
  • Utilizing a strategic approach. increase revenue and profit in Canada to achieve the organization’s ambitious growth plan
  • Develop and execute the key performance indicators (KPI’s) and Must Do’s for the strategic direction of the sales function for Canada each year
  • Work with the US sales & marketing teams to implement a Canadian plan that is aligned and builds on the strategies which have been implemented in the US
  • Lead and develop comprehensive execution strategies for new business growth activities including opportunity identification, proposal development, business development, capture management, and pipeline growth
  • Utilize the organization’s CRM database (Salesforce.com) accurately capturing and tracking all business-related activities including performance within existing accounts and new business pipeline
  • Develop and conduct a customer engagement strategy with key corporate accounts including face to face meetings and industry events
  • Successfully manage a sales project from the development of proposals, RFP responses, business plans, capabilities overviews, testimonials, case studies and ROI analysis used to generate sales
  • Deliver and execute strategic customer objectives
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction rating in accordance with company standards
  • Lead and manage the Canadian business unit through tracking and reporting performance to-date (weekly & monthly), identifying variances and developing strategic initiatives to drive profit plan goals
  • Lead future Canadian team members comprised of sales support & Regional SAM’s
  • Develop and coach the Canadian Sales Support Representative to achieve customer satisfaction and problem resolution appropriately
  • Enlist the support of the US business development team, implementation resources, product managers, and other sales and management resources as needed

Success in the first year will be determined by the candidate’s ability to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the SFC Value-Proposition and how it will drive return on investment for our customers, both existing and future
  • Continue to strengthen and form current client relationships through continued commitment to service excellence, including company paid and payroll-deduct programs
  • Successfully develop a thorough understanding of the business, products, operations, key clients, systems, and processes
  • Identify and develop opportunities for growth focusing on new clients and successfully increasing market share
  • Demonstrate an understanding of customer organizations and successfully articulate the SFC value proposition and the return on investment

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or another related field
  • MBA is considered an asset

Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in selling to complex, multi-location, B2B enterprise accounts
  • Experience working with clients in healthcare, food services, hospitality and industrial is preferred
  • Solid analytical skills and financial acumen with the ability to balance any constraints of the business model, while remaining creative and resourceful in meeting the organization’s needs
  • Demonstrated performance in developing new business
  • Experience in competitive analysis and price-to-win analysis
  • The ability to thrive in a competitive, results-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability in developing strategic plans and successfully executing tactical objectives
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficient in a leading CRM solution (preferably Salesforce.com) and Microsoft Office products

  • Strong relationship building capabilities with a demonstrated experience of working collaboratively with Sales Support, Operations, Business Development Specialists, Retail, and business support employees
  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to inspire others to achieve company objectives
