REGIONAL DIRECTOR – Long Term Care & Assisted Living

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Direct Reports: 6

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Regional Director – Long Term Care & Assisted Living is responsible for leading operations for several Long-Term Homes and Assisted Living Residences within an assigned and growing region. The incumbent will ensure high clinical and quality standards are maintained and all regulatory and financial responsibilities are met throughout the region. The Regional Director will have responsibility for the Long-Term Care Homes’ operating functionality and the direct support services to: care for the residents as per regulated/licensing and contractual requirements; provide daily food services; facility cleaning; laundry services; and ensure proper maintenance of and capital investment in the properties. The Regional Director oversees operations cost management, care site productivity and adherence to contract and regulatory/licensing scope, occupancy maximization, and facilitates the development of a collaborative team approach to maximize resident experiences and staff engagement. He/she will lead the regional leadership team through continuous improvement and operational excellence with the goal of establishing a high level of care for residents. The incumbent will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills to build a highly engaged workforce at all levels within the region, developing a collaborative team approach to maximize resident experiences while leading operational policies and procedures that increase efficiencies and quality to provide a platform for growth. The Regional Director –Long Term Care & Assisted Living will be responsible for achieving the accelerating growth trajectory of Vantage Living. As Regional Director of Operations, he/she will establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.



  • Lead the Regional Community Administrators in the development and delivery of their annual site operational objectives and priorities and suggest changes to the Chief Operating Officer to those objectives and priorities during the business
  • Contribute to the success of the Homes through understanding and implementation of key strategic
  • Drive a culture of accountability and drive performance through staff engagement and effective
  • Participate in monthly Operations management team meetings to review progress on the strategic and operational goals and
  • Participate in the development of the Operations Department operating budgets and suggest modifications to these budgets to the Chief Operating Officer during the fiscal
  • Engage in special projects as requested by the Chief Operating
  • To partner and work collaboratively with all support functions (Human Resources, Labour Relations, IT, Capital Management, Technical Services, and others), and promote a compliance driven environment in the
  • Regularly visit each site at least twice a month to observe operations and resident care and to interact with staff and residents to evaluate satisfaction

  • Ensure optimal resident and family satisfaction levels are
  • Build and maintain rewarding relationships with key externals



The successful candidate will have the following:

Education and Experience 

  • A minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Healthcare;
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and strong experience of managing budgets;
  • Proven management experience delivering high levels of client satisfaction and introducing innovation in a highly regulated environment;
  • Demonstrated success leading large, geographically diverse teams in a health care environment.
