The Organization
Our client is a Canadian, large commercial, industrial sector organization with a long record of accomplishment of growth and success. They are a profitable organization led by professional senior management with a team of skilled, dedicated and long tenured employees. Now is an excellent time for them to strengthen their relationships and reach into Ontario, specifically the GTA, and the Eastern Time zones with the addition of a new sales leader.
Mandate
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, the Regional Director of Sales is a new position created in the Eastern Canada market, initially focusing in Ontario, specifically to foster and grow new and existing relationships within the large corporate opportunities in the GTA, where the decision makers are located. The new Regional Director will be a goals-driven, results-oriented individual who will play a key role on the senior leadership team who will lead all aspects of sales penetration across Eastern Canada to grow revenue through business development of large business-to-business, key corporate accounts. The successful candidate will utilize their extensive network of decision maker relationships, executive level business acumen, knowledge of sales strategy and effective interpersonal skills, to increase market penetration and sales revenue across Canada with these customers.
Key Accountabilities
The position will include the following responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Create and deliver Eastern Region specific sales strategy in alignment with the company’s national growth plan;
- Identity new sales opportunities and construct comprehensive execution strategies;
- Drive to exceed sales targets through the effective day to day management of the full sales cycle and account management tasks from prospecting to client retention; and
- Represent the company at relevant industry functions and events to expand brand awareness and capitalize on opportunities for new business development.
Business Planning:
- Responsible for developing and executing annual Sales business plans that support the strategic, revenue and market penetration objectives of the Eastern region and company;
- Review and monitor critical ongoing sales information and customer data specific to budgets, timelines and production to determine if targets and goals are being met.
Working Relationships:
- Understand and support corporate objectives and day to day financial responsibilities while promoting increased revenue and superior customer service practices;
- Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders including the Executive Management team, vendor chain, and key client groups.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have the following:
Education:
- Academic credentials at the undergraduate level or equivalent work/life experiences.
Experience:
- A minimum of 7 -10 years of progressive sales experience in the large corporate business-to-business (B2B) services sector. It would be ideal if some or all of this experience was gained in the industrial and/or commercial maintenance services sector, but is not necessary.
- Demonstrated success driving growth and profitability by identifying, generating and closing new business within an organization with a recurring revenue model;
- Has built a pipeline by prospecting and cultivating sales leads through consultative, strategic conversations;
- A track record of having established strong internal and external network of relationships, along with building long standing relationships with clients;
- Demonstrated key account and project management skills in an organization that provides products and services to a wide range of businesses;
- Proven ability to strengthen the account planning process, to highlight growth potential and clearly define key account plan objectives;
- Has implemented business development best practices with teams focused on large, B2B, key account sales.
