The Opportunity

Reports to:Vice President, Marketing & Product Strategy

The Product Manager is a vital member of PRIMED’s success and requires exceptional collaboration, communication skills, team involvement, interpersonal skills, and professionalism in order to perform day to day job tasks. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing & Product Strategy, the Product Manager will support PRIMED’s continued growth through the successful execution of their acute care strategy and ongoing diversification of their customer base.

The Product Manager will support product management and product marketing of PRIMED’s mask product category, by managing selected day to day business activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen, exceptional collaboration skills and will thrive in a highly visible role.


Key Accountabilities

The position will include the following responsibilities:

  • Utilizes analytical and communication skills to understand customer requirements for products by mastering product knowledge, interactions with key customers and data review;
  • Works collaboratively with cross departmental internal product teams to ensure customer requirements are reflected in product specifications and packaging updates, as well as providing necessary business information for quality document control;
  • Demonstrates keen business acumen and effective collaboration with manufacturing and sales teams in executing pricing and costing strategies;
  • Collaborates to develop product definitions, manufacturability, pricing, market introduction, sales tools, and promotional plans;
  • Responsible for gaining and tracking ongoing competitive market intelligence, including development of clinical knowledge, understanding of the competitive landscape, competitive products, upcoming contract opportunities, market pricing and benchmarking;
  • Represents PRIMED products through coordination and assembly of promotional tools, supporting sales in clinical trials and conversions, and facilitating training on new products; and
  • Uses effective project management and leadership skills to keep key projects on track, the team engaged, and communication flowing from each department.

First Year Deliverables / Measures of Success

Success in the first year will be determined by the candidate’s ability to:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of PRIMED, the overall business strategy and the existing mask product strategy;
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across the entire organization including the marketing, sales, manufacturing and innovation teams;
  • Model core values and foster PRIMED’s exceptional organization culture;
  • Lead the execution of the existing acute care mask product strategy demonstrating strong business acumen with respect to product pricing;
  • Develop a plan to grow alternative market segments and diversify customer base; and
  • Demonstrate comfort in a highly visible roles regularly presenting information across the organization, to the executive and with external stakeholders.


Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sciences, or related field is required, and an advanced degree will be considered an asset.



  • 3 -7 years’ experience in a product management role, preferably in life sciences: medical device and/or pharmaceuticals;
  • Track record of successfully achieving measurable growth in a market segment or with a product category;
  • Demonstrated and measurable success in analyzing information and managing projects;
  • Previous experience in a regulatory environment;
  • Demonstrated experience working with public sector clients and knowledge of public RFP, tendering and procurement processes; and
  • Intermediate proficiency in a Windows based environment using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
