THE OPPORTUNITY

Job Title: National Sales Manager

Reports to: President

Direct Reports: Currently none

Location: Toronto & GTA

 

THE MANDATE

Our client is currently seeking a National Sales Manager to work out of their Mississauga office managing the business across Canada.  The company has been successful in a handful of markets in the region however there is still room for growth.  The National Sales Manager will have a proven track record of developing sales opportunities in new end users while working closely with OEM partners, agents and distributors.  They will be responsible for generating new business as well as maintaining and expanding business within existing accounts.  Their client base spans from vehicle washing, to the manufacturing of glass, engineered flooring, door sealing, fruit & vegetable processing, to steel and aluminum mill applications.  While the commercial expertise is the current focus someone with experience on the operations side could take on more responsibilities over time.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and recommendation of sales strategies throughout Canada
  • Manage the sales budget and work closely with the President to devise a strategy to achieve maximum profitability and sales
  • Build and implement a sales process to improve the customer relationship management side of the business
  • Manage all relationships with OEM partners, distributors, and agents and focus them on creating demand in their markets for their products
  • Create a market segmentation plan to evaluate the right sales strategy for each geographic area and each unique end user
  • Responsible for the recruitment, training and mentorship of any personnel requirements for the sales team
  • Manage current client accounts as well as prospect for new accounts all while keeping customer service the main priority
  • Analyze and interpret industry, market and competitive trends that can be leveraged to their benefit
  • Keep up to date on market trends and new products needed for success
  • Provide accurate product forecasting for the Operations and Production team

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

Education

  • Diploma or Degree in a Technical Field is preferred

Experience

  • Min 7+ years of sales experience for a manufacturer of custom industrial products
