Our client is a privately-owned consulting firm that has been providing administration, software programming and consulting solutions for pension, benefits, and investment programs for individuals, corporations, unions, associations, and governments for programs based in Canada.

Their mission is to design, implement, and manage employee benefit programs for individuals and institutions to provide economic security at a reasonable and affordable cost.

They currently have a great opportunity for a Member Services Associate to join their team.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The team that the successful candidate will be apart of is an integral part of the client service and account management offering, and is responsible for the care of and problem solving for their clients’ employees and families.  The successful candidate will be a key team member who applies related experience in client service, and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.  The Member Services Associate is on the frontline, and makes a difference for both their clients and plan members across Canada everyday.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ascertain the nature of incoming calls and emails and respond accordingly.
  • Professionally greet and direct clients and plan members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with plan administrators and other professionals responsible for benefits plan administration.
  • Advocate for and assist plan members and their families with questions about their coverage or claims adjudication; including disability management.
  • Troubleshoot problem claims with plan members.
  • Work with our insurer partners toward mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Become a trusted and relied upon partner to our clients’ HR Team.
  • Provide general administrative support such as typing, data entry, photocopying, filing, etc. to the team, as needed.
  • Contribute to the team effort by completing other administrative tasks or projects as assigned.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, Group Life and Health concepts, benefits and best practices, including self-insured arrangements, pooling arrangements, Multi-Employer trusts and flexible benefits programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communications skills
  • Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to set and manage multiple priorities
  • Able to maintain confidentiality related to private and business matters
