Marketing & Communications Specialist | CDSPI

The Organization

Established in 1959, CDSPI is a not-for-profit company, whose members are the Canadian Dental Association, and participating provincial and territorial dental associations. The organization provides advisory insurance and investment services tailored to meet the changing needs and enhance the financial wellness of dentists at every stage, from dental school to retirement and beyond.

The Marketing and Customer Experience Departments are growing teams whose objectives are to engage and empower dentists and dental students to do business with CDSPI through the channel of their choice. This is accomplished by understanding our clients and their ecosystem, sharpening marketing and communication strategies and initiatives, delivering better customer and employee experiences, and efficiently protecting and growing the business.

Mandate

Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Customer Experience, The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for managing the tactical aspects of strategic marketing initiatives and integrated lead generation campaigns.

The ideal candidate has exceptional communication skills – especially writing. This role works collaboratively with the Marketing and Sales teams as well as other stakeholders to foster brand awareness, client engagement and lead generation. Projects supported include communications/content development, customer experience initiatives, providing creative input on marketing collateral and digital assets, co-creation of advisor presentations and corporate website management.

Key Accountabilities

The position will include the following responsibilities:

  • Advocates for the CDSPI brand to represent the CDSPI mission, vision, cause, and value proposition and increase our brand engagement with clients and staff
  • Collaborating with other marketing team stakeholders to execute integrated marketing plans and campaigns that drive engagement, new business and an increased share of wallet.
  • Helping to strengthen client retention, and advocacy by leveraging client insights and demonstrating an expert understanding of the audience, their ecosystem, and their needs
  • Working as a team with all marketing stakeholder to create and contribute to the creation of compelling marketing collateral, effectively incorporating design and content to educate and inspire our audience to take action, including ads, promotional items, videos, digital and print copy, newsletters, presentations, product, event and advisor support materials
  • Assists in results tracking for campaigns and other initiatives to determine campaign efficiency and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain and enhance the CDSPI website and other digital assets to engage the audience and promote easy and positive movement through the sales process, onboarding, and other client journeys
  • Other duties as assigned by the Marketing and Communications Manager or VP Marketing and Customer Experience
Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:

Education:

  • University degree in Business, Marketing or Communications

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of marketing or communication experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of various marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and content management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute creative marketing plans for a variety of campaigns and marketing initiatives including print and digital mediums
  • In addition to advanced writing skills, also proficient in WordPress and InDesign, WordPress

Competencies and Attributes:

  • Excellent project and time management experience to manage multiple projects and deliver on deadlines and goals.
  • Professional writing and content development experience and a digital-first mindset
  • An enthusiasm for making a positive impact on the customer and employee experience, and the opportunities these provide for marketing strategies and initiatives
  • Superior judgment of audiences’ needs and winning tactics
