Optimum Talent is pleased to be partnered with SRP Companies (SRP) to find their new Director of Sales. SRP Companies (SRP) is a leading full-service category manager offering a broad selection of convenience, novelty, and point-of-sale products to convenience store, amusement, hospitality and travel channels. SRP’s core competencies include product design, international sourcing, route-based services (DSD delivery), and in-store display, design, and merchandising of last-minute-purchase items. SRP distributes a range of products within the sunglasses, electronics, plush, novelty and apparel categories under a portfolio of brands including Pugs, SMART, bHip, Solaray, Cloudz, Fiesta, as well as licensed products.

The company operates warehouse facilities and employs route sales representatives that service more than 50,000 retail locations across all regions of the United States and Canada. Since partnering with Aurora Capital in 2016, the company has doubled revenues to $500 million CDN via organic growth and strategic acquisitions and is looking to continue with this trajectory.



Job Title:Director of Sales
Reports to:SVP Sales, SRP Canada
Location:Richmond Hill, ON



SRP Companies are seeking a highly dynamic and talented Director of Sales to be responsible for the development, coordination, management, oversight, and evaluation of the organization’s marketing and business development activities in support of alternative channels (Drug & Grocery, Hardware, Sporting Goods, etc.). As a member of the management team, the Director Sales participates in team management, performance management, strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting initiatives, and systems initiatives, in addition to problem-solving and process development for the department. The focus is on delivering measurable results within the organization that leads to outstanding program execution for our clients. Results will be attained through effective execution against business performance goals.

The Director of Sales will focus on:

Business Development: Evaluate performance to determine if organizational capabilities are competitive and relevant with regard to customer and competitor trends in the industry; customize the go-to-market strategy for strategic clients and segments; oversee and support the launch of new marketing programs and processes at the initial point of customer interface, including the generation of new business leads.

Insights: Play a strategic role in developing category, channel, customer and competitive brand marketplace insights; oversee the collection and reporting of data to analyze and identify consumer and marketplace trends/opportunities to enhance the go-to-market strategy; champion key insights to drive consumer/shopper behavior change.

Optimization: Make adjustments and optimize the go-to-market strategy to maximize our one-to-one consumer interactions; work closely with business leaders (i.e. Talent Acquisition, Field Execution, etc.) to maximize processes; identify and attend approved trade exhibits, shows and regular company field programs to develop and maintain knowledge base; identify gaps and best practices in marketing and business development operations to improve overall performance.


  • Provide short-term and long-term strategic direction for Alternative Channels in order to drive profit, volume, market share and growth.
  • Responsible for the execution of a profitable and competitive pricing strategy
  • Lead Top-to-Top Channel reviews while cultivating relationships
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop custom programs
  • Responsible for the overall Alternative Channel budget, forecast and accuracy
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President to manage yearly plan is modified and updated to ensure, Channel and customer targets are met across volume, revenue, and EBITDA

Own and drive revenue growth; lead team to identify and secure new revenue opportunities to include:

  • Increase existing clients’ business by maximizing opportunities with customers; leverage senior level customer relationships to benefit client business resulting in increased revenue
  • Grow white space for the Company within key clients
  • Support team in developing the strategy to align resources to secure revenue growth; coordinate with other senior level members of the Company to achieve goals



The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree and MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales operations experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years proven sales experience/customer management.
  • Successful track record of building strong business relationships within the marketplace.
  • Effective leadership and coaching skills.
  • Must possess the ability to think strategically and have the ability to improve the Organization’s performance within the assigned channel of business.
  • Excellent customer service focus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Goal oriented and highly motivated.
  • Experience in the development of marketing and commercial programs.

  • Experience working in or with a broker team
  • Experience managing a team of direct and indirect reports

  • Must have proven successful track record in developing strategies and delivering results
  • Good understanding of P&L Management
  • Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job. Travel approximately 30%.
