THE OPPORTUNITY

Job Title:Corporate and Home Solutions Business Sales Manager
Reports to:Vice President of Garden Centre Operations
Location:Georgetown, ON

 

 

THE MANDATE

Independently owned and operated for more than 100 years, Sheridan Nurseries is Canada’s largest independent Garden Centre operator and grower of Hardy Nursery Stock.

Our Corporate Solutions business is currently working with a range of clients including Corporate Offices, Restaurants, Home Builders, Government Agencies, and Event Planners. Our goal is to integrate our expanded Corporate Solutions Department with our ‘At Home Landscape Design Service’  which is a complete design to supply home landscaping service that works with partner businesses in design, supply and install, or complete DIY landscape services.

Reporting to the Vice President of Garden Centre Operations, the Corporate and Home Solutions Business Manager will be responsible to lead channel growth strategies for both Corporate Solutions and our At Home Landscape Design Services.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Write and execute sales plans to achieve channel potential
  • Actively manage and grow accounts in our Corporate Solutions (B2B) channel and our ‘At Home Landscape Design Services’ channel
  • Meet and exceed annual sales revenue and profit goals for both channels
  • Cultivate strong relationships with current and prospective customers
  • Stay up to date on current industry trends and competitive activities
  • To write and execute sales plans to achieve channel potential
  • To leverage efficiencies that exist between both channels

 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Minimum of 5 years sales management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to grow penetration and market share with new customers in undeveloped channels
  • Honed account management skills and a relentless customer service
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making skills and the ability to multitask
  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
  • Highly competitive, results oriented, and self-motivated
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • This position is required to work occasional evenings and weekends and some overnight travel be required
  • Horticultural landscape experience is an asset
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle
