Founded in 1987, Montréal-based The Luminaires Group (TLG) is a leader in the specification-grade lighting industry for commercial, institutional, hospitality and municipal markets. Through its unique niche brands, TLG provides a wide range of innovative lighting solutions for both interior and exterior use. Each company within TLG has a deep connection to the market segment it serves – designing, developing and manufacturing some of the industry’s most innovative products. Its products are marketed towards architects, landscape architects, interior designers and engineers through five lighting brands: a-light, Cyclone, Eureka, Luminaire LED and Luminis. TLG’s annual sales reach approximately $125 million CAD and employs over 375 associates across five locations in Canada and the United States.
The Luminaires Group was recently acquired by Acuity Brands, Inc, the North American market leader and one of the world’s leading providers of lighting and building management solutions. With fiscal year 2018 net sales of $3.7 billion USD, Acuity Brands currently employs approximately 12,000 associates and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia with operations throughout North America, and in Europe and Asia.
Reporting to the Vice-President and General Manager of TLG, you will be responsible for the P&L of the assigned Business Unit (Eureka Lighting) which employs some 90 people. You will contribute to define goals and budgets for product growth and margins. You work collaboratively with functional leaders to ensure growth strategies are established and aligned to drive go-to-market strategies. You develop strong business relationships with key executive level influencers within the existing customer base, prospective customers, vendors and channel partners. You provide leadership in the development of short and long-term strategic planning,
You will participle in establishing the strategic direction for growth potential, margin and new market penetration. In addition, you will promote organizational values (diligence, team, performance, customer experience and innovation), while ensuring proactive and sustained communications. You will value employee output and maximize the company’s profitability through high standards and clear goals.
