Joseph (Joe) started with Optimum Talent in 2021 in the role of Senior Consultant, Leadership, Assessment + Development after working for over 15 years in the financial services and insurance industries, at both national and international organizations. Joe’s areas of focus include diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; leadership development; talent development and succession management; coaching & mentoring; change management; communication and presentation skills; team dynamics; learning evaluation & sustainment practices. Joe brings his lived experiences into his work and aims to create environments that challenge and inspire learners. His role combines his passion for program development and design with facilitation and coaching.
Joe’s previous work experiences have resulted in a laser-like focus on the client experience, along with strong business acumen and awareness. He has led diverse and dynamic teams of employees in a variety of business lines and functional areas and has developed broad Human Resources skills in areas such as employee relations and talent development. With his authentic, engaging and clear communication skills, Joe approaches challenging situations and conversations through storytelling, humility and candour.
Joe achieved his Bachelor’s degree, along with earning Certificates in Human Resources and Adult Education, via a number of Canadian post-secondary education institutions. Ambitious at heart, he is he currently teaching part-time Human Resources studies at a local College in Ontario. When Joe is not working, he is supporting the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada with annual fundraising events, caring for his rescue dogs, exploring the outdoors and collecting vinyl records, both new and old.
