Carolyn Leathead

Carolyn joined Optimum Talent in 2021 as a Senior Consultant on our Leadership, Assessment and Development team where she focuses her efforts on assessing professionals’ potential.

Carolyn has a charismatic personality and a communicative dynamism. Her energy and motivation at work stem from the pleasure she has in being around inspiring individuals. Every day, she focuses her efforts on developing authentic relationships with our business partners by identifying their needs and offering a personalized service aligned with their values, principles, and philosophy. In doing so, she humbly aspires to make a difference and contribute to the organizational success of our partners. Carolyn also carries the intrinsic desire to guide individuals with benevolence in the development of their full potential as well as in their professional development to promote greater job satisfaction. This latter concept is of great importance to Carolyn, who has observed the direct impacts of coercive practices in organizational settings on the mental health of individuals, in the context of her practice as a clinical psychologist.

Carolyn is a licensed Clinical and Counselling Psychologist as well as a registered member of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ). She has several years of experience as a clinical psychologist in public and private organizations as well as in a private practice setting, where she performed assessments of, and provided diagnoses and treatments of mental health difficulties to an adult and pediatric clientele. Having completed a doctorate in research and intervention in the discipline of psychology (Ph.D. & Psy.D), Carolyn was interested in studying the impact of empathy in human relations as part of her thesis. Prior to her studies in psychology, Carolyn obtained her bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing, after which she worked in the publishing industry and event marketing.

Carolyn is passionate about being involved in her community. In fact, she has served on boards of directors for several years, where she feels that along with her peers, she is contributing to something bigger than herself.
